Slow songs for rock nerds

Okay, I’ve been caught up in the meme-stream this morning.

Dr. Ellis over at Zen Archery made reference to a post at Blissblog, asking about what songs alternative types listen to when in the mood, as it were. What’s good slow, sexy music to the ears of a rocker?

I’ve been trying to post a response on Zen archery to no avail, as the spam filter is kicking me every time I try to include links – and I feel linking to bands is important when you’re talking about them. Spread the love, as it were, and promote the artists you appreciate.

So, here’s a few makers of beautiful music, off the top of my head:

Blacktop Cadence
Crosstide
The Little Explorer
Biffy Clyro
Lewis
The Promise Ring
Sleater-Kinney (especially Milkshake and Honey… what a song…)

There’s many more, but there’s a start. Any excuse to pass on music I adore.

This has set me off on a misson. I have a purpose for the coming days. I wanted to include the incredible, and sadly defunct, Spy Vs Spy – but they have no remaining online presence. I did find though, that they released two albums. And here’s me playing their first EP to death, not knowing those existed. So now it is the focus of my remaining days to track down copies of said albums. I must find them.
